1. Offensive passing is legal only when the ball is thrown from a live ball situation by a player who is allowed to pass.
2. Before the snap, a receiver should keep both hands forward and visible to the defensive back.
3. Keeping the hands forward before the snap can signal that the player is preparing for a pass route.
4. A running play may be signaled by reaching back and deploying the armor-mounted saber before or at the snap.
5. Under the play-action exception, the saber must be deployed after no more than one step.
6. A running back may intentionally deliver extra force, such as lowering a shoulder, only after engaging with the WarBall or another authorized action.
7. A ball carrier may use the WarBall to deflect or soften a tackle.
8. Before a conventional block, offensive linemen must first engage with fighting staffs.
9. A legal catch or touchdown requires at least part of one hand to touch the football itself, even when metal rods assist.
10. The defense may force a fumble by grabbing the embedded metal rods.
11. If a ball carrier's approved device activates, the carrier is down and the ball is dead at that spot.
12. If a non-ball-carrier's device activates, that player remains out and ineligible for the rest of the play.
13. A non-ball-carrier whose device activates may re-enter the play once the ball changes possession.
14. A ball carrier whose approved device activates may continue running until tackled normally.
