FormHug started with a simple question: what if forms could feel more human?

It Started with a Simple Thought

We’ve built forms for years — for signups, surveys, applications, and feedback. They worked. But they rarely felt good. Creating forms felt like setup work, and filling them out felt like a chore. The experience was often cold and transactional. We kept thinking: forms are about people — so why don’t they feel more human? That thought became FormHug.

Why “Hug”

A hug is a small gesture that says: you’re welcome here. We built that idea into forms. For a while, we assumed we knew who was on the other side — a person, giving their time and attention. And often, that’s still true. Then AI agents started showing up. Not to replace the people, but to act on their behalf. An agent scheduling a meeting. A workflow triggering a registration. A system submitting a request through MCP without a human ever touching a keyboard. The form still gets filled. Something still arrives. But now we had to ask ourselves: should a form only feel welcoming to humans? We don’t think so. A form worth building should be open to whoever — or whatever — arrives. That’s what “Hug” means to us now. Not just warmth for people. Openness for everything that comes next.

Form · Hug · AI

Our name holds three ideas. They’ve always been there. They’ve gotten richer. Form — A simple structure that powers a surprising amount of the internet. Hug — Design with warmth. Welcome the person. Welcome the agent. Don’t ask who’s on the other side before opening the door. AI — Two things at once: AI that helps you build faster (meet Evan, our AI form builder), and forms that can be used by AI. Through MCP, an agent can fill out your form, submit a request, and trigger a workflow — all through the same structured interface your human submitters use. Form · Hug · AI isn’t just a name. It’s a direction: forms that belong to the agent-first internet, not just the human one.

Who It’s For

FormHug is for people who want a form that works — and for the agents running workflows on their behalf. Indie makers, small teams, startups, educators, communities. Some building real things. Some testing ideas. Some connecting their AI systems to the world through a form at midnight. All of it counts.

How We Build

We care about clear over clever, friendly over formal, and useful over overloaded. FormHug is powerful when you need it and simple when you don’t — whether you’re a human filling a form or an agent navigating one.

Still Learning

FormHug is still growing. This idea — that forms can live at the intersection of human experience and agent infrastructure — is newer than we expected. We’re figuring it out alongside our users. No big promises. Just steady progress. And a genuine curiosity about what forms become next.
