It Started with a Simple Thought

We’ve built forms for years — for signups, surveys, applications, and feedback. They worked. But they rarely felt good. Creating forms felt like setup work, and filling them out felt like a chore. The experience was often cold and transactional. We kept thinking: forms are about people — so why don’t they feel more human? That thought became FormHug.

Why “Hug”

A hug is a small gesture that says: you’re welcome here. We built that idea into forms. For a while, we assumed we knew who was on the other side — a person, giving their time and attention. And often, that’s still true. Then AI agents started showing up. Not to replace the people, but to act on their behalf. An agent scheduling a meeting. A workflow triggering a registration. A system submitting a request through MCP without a human ever touching a keyboard. The form still gets filled. Something still arrives. But now we had to ask ourselves: should a form only feel welcoming to humans? We don’t think so. A form worth building should be open to whoever — or whatever — arrives. That’s what “Hug” means to us now. Not just warmth for people. Openness for everything that comes next.

AI — Two things at once: AI that helps you build faster (meet Evan, our AI form builder), and forms that can be used by AI. Through MCP, an agent can fill out your form, submit a request, and trigger a workflow — all through the same structured interface your human submitters use. Form · Hug · AI isn’t just a name.
