Rating and ranking fields help you measure opinions, preferences, and satisfaction levels. They are most common in surveys, customer feedback forms, NPS surveys, and assessment-style forms. If you’re deciding which scale fits your research goal, compare survey rating scales, Likert scale survey questions, and ranking survey questions before finalizing the field.

Rating (Star Rating)

Collect ratings using a star-based system. Settings:
  • Number of stars (1-10)
  • Icon style (stars, hearts, etc.)
  • Half-star option
  • Labels for each level

  • Quick feedback

Ranking

Allow submitters to rank options by dragging to reorder. Settings:
  • Add/remove options
  • Randomize initial order
  • Number of items to rank
Common uses:
  • Priority ordering
  • Preference ranking
  • Feature prioritization

Grid Rating

Collect ratings for multiple items in a grid format. Settings:
  • Row items (what to rate)
  • Column options (rating scale)
  • Required per row

NPS (Net Promoter Score)

Collect NPS scores on a 0-10 scale to measure satisfaction and loyalty. Settings:

  • 9-10: Promoters
Common uses:

Likert Scale

Collect agreement levels using a standardized scale. Settings:
  • Scale options (3, 5, or 7 points)
